在天雨流芳的梦幻丽江，历史将会见证这一刻：一支火炬，源自于遥远的希腊雅典、古老文明，越过了世界百年沧桑，凝聚着同一个世界的同一个梦想，在云贵高原滇西北的大地上猎猎燃烧，点亮了巍巍玉龙，点亮了悠悠古城，也瞬间点燃了丽江116万各族儿女沸腾的激情。

In this god-blessing dreamland Lijiang, there will be a historical witness: a torch from the far Athens of Greece has crossed the 100-year history of the world with the same dream of the same world and its passion in northwest of Yunan-Guizhou Plateau. It has put the finishing touch to the picture of Jade Dragon, the mighty Yulong Snow Mountain; it has enlivened the quiet ancient town; and it has lighted the passion of over 1.1 million populations of all people in Lijiang.

这是一支属于全世界，全人类的奥运火炬，这是一种让五环紧紧相扣，全世界人民心心相连的奥运精神。她象征着和平、光荣与梦想，散发着耀眼而灿烂的光辉，在历史性的2008年，被赋予华夏民族“渊源共生，和谐共融”的祥云色彩，赋予中华五千年的深厚积淀，即将在历时130天，总共约13.7万公里路程的全球传递之后，最终在伟大首都北京熊熊燃起，以更激扬的风貌，更奔涌的热情，团结和组织来自世界各地的运动员度过16天奋勇争先，拚搏不屈的激情时刻，让奥运会火炬的光辉照耀着几千年来不屈进取，与时俱进，最终傲立于世界民族之林的灿烂无比的华夏文明。

It is a torch of the world, a torch of all human beings. It is Olympic spirit with five rings closely connecting the soul of people all over the world. It is a symbol of peace, glory and dream. It is at this historical 2008 that it is endowed with the auspicious clouds for Chinese “common root and harmonious communication” and with experience of five thousand years, and after the relay of about 137,000 kilometers around the world in 130 days that it finally lights the passion in our greatest capital Beijing with more passion than we’ve ever had to gather and organize athletes across the world for another 16 days’ fight and struggle full of passion, and to shine the great Chinese civilization with the splendid glory of Olympic Games. We always keep advancing in thousands of years following the step of times and finally top the world.

这是一支传递爱心，传递温暖，见证和映照着全体中国人团结与力量的火炬。“5.12”汶川大地震发生，数万余名同胞罹难,几十万人家园被毁，四川汶川及周边地区遍地瓦砾，满目疮痍。在这无比危难的时刻，全国人民在党中央、国务院的号召下，抗震救灾，众志成城，谱写了一曲风雨同舟的战斗壮歌。奥运圣火，此刻被赋予了更加眩目的色彩和光亮，为了中华民族的坚强与团结，为了全体中国人与灾区人民一起坚强、坚守、坚持，危难之时不放弃，困境之中不服输的精神与力量，而发出了更加夺目的光芒。奥运之光，就是此刻无比灿烂与光荣的中华民族的生命之光、希望之光、团结之光！

It is a torch to pass love and warm, witness and reflect the unity and power of all Chinese people. In Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, tens of thousands of compatriots died and hundreds of thousands of houses were damaged. Sichuan Wenchuan and its surrounding areas are scattered with debris and destruction. It is at this disastrous moment that the whole nation has composed a powerful song by working in union to fight earthquake and provide disaster relief at the call of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and that the Olympic flame is endowed with more glaring color and light to give off a brighter glow for the strong and united Chinese people, for the whole nation to stand together with people in disaster zone, and for the spirit and power of persistence in crisis and emulation in difficulty. It is the glory of the Olympic Games as well as the glory of life, hope and unity of splendid and glorious Chinese people.

这支无比光荣、无比灿烂的火炬将在中国滇西北高原上的世界三遗产地丽江激情传递。从96年“2.3”地震中重新站起来的丽江，此时已成为了一个同时拥有丽江古城世界文化遗产、“三江并流”世界自然遗产、东巴古籍文献世界记忆遗产三项世界级桂冠，经济社会发展势头强劲，面貌焕然一新的城市。当这承载着世界百年梦想，承载着中华民族团结、和平、统一理想的火炬在这里燃起，将会是激扬丽江最为燃情奔涌的一刻，116万丽江各族儿女的心脏，在此刻与祖国，与世界贴得那么的近，贴得那么的紧，共同的心跳在此刻代表了整个世界,激情祝福，倾情呐喊，融汇成了祝福祖国，祝福奥运的最强音！

The passionate, glorious and splendid torch relay will be carried out in Lijiang, the place with three heritages on northwest plateau of Yunnan in China. We are proud of it and we will keep persistent efforts. For decades, Lijiang has experienced from the spirit of constantly striving for improvement in the ruins of the earthquake on February 3, 1996 to a new Lijiang rebuilt through decades of adversity, with powerful economic growth and three world-level reputation of Lijiang Ancient City World Cultural Heritage,“Three Rivers Flow”World Natural Heritage and Dongba Ancient Documents as the Memory of the World. The moment for igniting the torch loaded with the 100-year dream of the world and the dream of unity, peace and unification for the Chinese people will be the most passionate one of Lijiang when our 1.16 million Lijiang people of all nationalities get closer and closer to passionately shout out and bless our country and the Olympic Games on behalf of the whole world.

燃情岁月，灿烂丽江。让历史见证这一刻，让时代见证这一刻！同时，也谨以此宣传册，答谢所有参与和见证这一时刻的朋友们。
